Marco Pierre White has visited Dorchester to launch his son's first Italian restaurant in Brewery Square.

Luccio’s is Luciano Pierre White’s first business venture, promising classic Italian cuisine.

Luccio's is named after Luciano's Italian grandmother and replaces Carluccio's, which closed earlier this year.

Marco told Greatest Hits Radio why they picked Dorchester:

He said:

"I think Dorchester picked us rather than us picking Dorchester. I came here many years ago when they were first developing it and I was shown around.

"So I knew the site already but it wasn't developed like it is today. I liked it then, but I was so busy busy busy in Norfolk in those days I said 'no, not this time' and then a few years later it comes back up and here we are."

Luciano designed the menu and will lead the team of chefs at Luccio's.

Luciano said:

"I’m excited to be launching my first restaurant in the heart of Dorchester’s thriving shopping and eating hub.”

From a young age, Luciano has spent time in the kitchen with his father and has refined his skills through working at Pierre Koffmann’s restaurant at the Berkeley Hotel, Albert and Ferran Adria restaurant in Barcelona, Tickets (a two Michelin star restaurant) and has experience assisting in the opening of the English House boutique hotel in Singapore.

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, commented:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the success of our eateries re-opening, with the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out Scheme particularly driving significant sale spikes.

"The arrival of Luccio’s is testament to this success and we’re delighted that Luciano has chosen Brewery Square to begin his exciting new restaurant business. We can’t wait to welcome more hungry diners to Brewery Square to experience it for themselves!”
