Man becomes trapped after directing HGV in Dorchester

A man has suffered minor injuries after being pinned between a load from a HGV and a parked car in Dorchester

Police are investigating after a pedestrian became trapped between a load from a heavy goods vehicle and a parked car in Dorchester.

Dorset Police was called at 9.22am yesterday morning (Tuesday 31 August) to reports of an injury collision in Weymouth Avenue near to Tesco involving a pedestrian who was directing a heavy goods vehicle and became entangled with the load, causing him to be pinned between the item and a parked Range Rover.

Luckily the pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s and from Taunton, only sustained minor injuries.

Police Constable Donal Doyle, of the traffic unit, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any of the incident on dashcam."
