It happened outside a kebab shop during the early hours of Saturday
A local man in his forties has been taken to hospital with sever facial injuries and bleed on the brain following an attack outside a kebab shop on East Street in Birdport during the early hours of Saturday morning.
It has been reported that two men were assaulted by two other men and one of the victims, a local man in his 40s, ended up unconscious on the floor.
The other victim, a man in his thirties, suffered bruising.
Following the incident, a 35-year-old man from Lincolnshire was arrested on suspicion of assault and is helping officers with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Mark Portelli, of Western CID, said:
“We are making a number of enquiries, including looking at CCTV.
“It was reported that the other suspect left the area in a taxi.
“I am appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about those involved to come forward.
“Also, I believe some people in the area at the time may have captured the incident on their mobile phones. Therefore, I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has relevant footage.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police.
