Man robbed and assaulted in Weymouth
His phone and car keys were stolen - and his vehicle later taken as well
A man in his 20s has allegedly been robbed and assaulted in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 27th April) in Weymouth.
Police were called at 4.43am to report an incident at the junction of Knightsdale Road and Newstead Road, near to The Marsh playing fields.
The victim had his phone and car keys stolen in the attack - he also needed hospital treatment for facial injuries.
It's also reported his car - a black Ford Fiesta - was then taken from his home address and found later this morning in Baycliffe Road.
ARRESTS MADE
Two local 17 year old boys have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
One of them has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Weymouth CID, said:
“Our investigation into this reported robbery is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please come forward.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Knightsdale Road and Newstead Road in the early hours of Wednesday 27 April 2022, or anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam or home CCTV systems.
“Finally, if anyone has come across a Ford car key with a gold house key and photo of a child in the area of Baycliffe Road or Markham Road, we would ask that they leave them where they are and contact the police to arrange for collection.”
