Man rescued after falling through roof in Weymouth

Fire crews were called to Goldcroft Avenue, yesterday morning

A man has been rescued by firefighters after falling through the roof of a building in Weymouth.

Crews were called to the property in Goldcroft Avenue at 11.45am yesterday morning. (19 May)

The roof of the three storey building was under constriction and the man had fallen through it, into the loft space below.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said:

" Technical Rescue appliances from Weymouth Fire Station attended, along with a fire engine with oncall staff from Weymouth.

"Specialist Tech Rescue firefighters brought the casualty down from the 3rd storey of the building using specialist equipment involving ropes and a stretcher, to enable the Ambulance Service to be able to treat him."
