A man's been knocked off his bike and assaulted in a robbery in Bournemouth.

The victim, in his 50s, was cycling on Pokesdown Hill on Christchurch Road at around 7.50pm on Tuesday (15th August) when two males attacked him.

A member of the public stopped their car nearby and shouted at the two individuals, after which they stopped the assault and ran away towards Southbourne.

The victim has his phone stolen and sustained head injuries that needed hospital treatment.

The offenders are described as being in their late teens and wearing black tracksuits.

Detective Constable Cam Carter, Bournemouth CID, said:

“I believe the area was very busy at the time and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the offenders to please contact us as soon as possible.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who saw two people matching the description running away from the area at the time and any motorists that may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
