Man exposes himself to young girl in Swanage

An investigation's been launched after a man exposed himself and performed an indecent act in front of a 13-year-old girl in Swanage

A man has indecently exposed himself to a teenage girl in Swanage.

Dorset Police have just released details about the incident that happened around 7.20pm on Wednesday 4 August.

A 13-year-old girl was walking along Washpond Lane in the direction of the High Street while on the phone to a friend when she became aware of a man shouting at her near to the rail bridge.

The girl looked up to see the man exposing himself and performing an indecent act.

Description

The man is described as white, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, approximately five feet 11 inches tall and of medium build with short shaved hair. He was wearing a striped polo top and trousers.

Police Constable Bryce Scott-Jones, of Purbeck police, said:

“An investigation is underway into this incident to identify the man and we will be carrying out a number of enquiries, including checking CCTV in the vicinity.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened, or recognises the man from the description given, to please come forward.

“This must have been extremely distressing for the young victim and we will continue to do all we can to locate the offender.”
