A man's been taken to hospital after falling through a roof on a building site in West Dorset.

Fire crews were called Verriotts Lane in Morcombelake yesterday morning. (10 November)

A technical crew from Weymouth were involved in the rescue.

Fire crews and paramedics attend the injured man.

A spokesman for Charmouth Fire Station said:

"We immediately requested the assistance of our technical rescue colleagues based in Weymouth as the gentleman was suffering pelvic and lower back pain and sat astride a roof beam which was part of a new roof construction.

"Crews administered first aid to the gentleman and prepared a safe platform for the oncoming paramedics and tech rescue crews to safely work from.

"He was given pain relief and safely packaged up and removed from the top of the building being relayed to hospital by ambulance."
