Man dies in water at West Bay Harbour

A man has died this morning after he was found in the water at West Bay.

Ambulance, fire and police teams were called to the scene at around 8am this morning.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"Dorset Police received a report at 8am on Monday 11 April 2022 from HM Coastguard raising concern for the welfare of a man in the water at West Beach in West Bay.

"Officers attended, along with HM Coastguard and the ambulance service.

"Very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified."
