A man has died in hospital, four days after a serious collision on Dorchester.

A black Nissan collided with a wall on Celtic Crescent at around 9.15am last Tuesday morning (16th August).

The 58 year old driver from Weymouth was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment, but died on Saturday (20th August).

His family have been informed.

Medical episode blamed

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the Dorset traffic unit, said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who died at what must be an incredibly difficult time for them.

“While our enquiries so far indicate the driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode, our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened remains ongoing.

“I would again urge any witnesses or anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us.”
