Man due in court in connection with crash that left teenage girl seriously injured

A man is due to appear in court in connection with an accident in Lytchett Matravers where a teenage girl was seriously injured.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.08pm on Monday 21 March 2022 of a collision in Wareham Road involving a bus and a pedestrian.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian – a 15-year-old local girl – was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A 59-year-old man from the Dorchester area was arrested in connection with the incident.

He is now due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (28 September) for an offence of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
