A man's come forward after a CCTV appeal in connection with an assault in West Dorset.

At around 4.10pm on Sunday 2 January the male victim was in the garden of an address in Halstock Leigh when his dogs ran out into a nearby lane.

The dogs barked at a man who was running in the area and it is reported that he then entered the garden and began shouting at the victim, before grabbing him by his clothing and pushing him.

The victim fell on to the floor and hit his head. He sustained a cut to his ear and neck pain.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"Following a CCTV appeal, a man has come forward and is helping officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made."
