Man charged over crash which leaves woman critically injured

A man has been charged following an accident in Bournemouth that has left a woman critically ill in hospital.
Dorset Police received a report at 11.19am on Tuesday (8 November) of a collision involving a white Nissan Micra and a pedestrian in Poole Road, Westbourne.
The pedestrian – a woman aged in her 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is described as critical.
A 47-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
He has subsequently been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today (10 November)
