A man from Sherborne has been charged with burglary with intent to steal, in connection with an incident in the town.

But Dorset Police are still looking for more information into what happened.

They're investigating reports that a man tried to get into a first floor window of a property in Kings Road in Sherborne at 1.20am last Thursday (14th July).

The man was disturbed and left the scene.

58 year old Glen Holden from Sherborne was later arrested and charged - as well as being charged for a similar incident in Milborne Port in Somerset.

He's appeared before Poole Magistrates Court (Wednesday 20th July) and is due for another hearing there on Wednesday 24th August.

Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Dorset County CID, said:

“Our investigation is ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area of Kings Road in Sherborne during the early hours of Thursday 14 July 2022, or captured anything of relevance on dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell cameras.”
