Man charged following fail-to-stop collision in Pamphill

A 26 year old from Sturminster Marshall came forward after a police appeal

A man's been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident - after an 18 year old was struck by a car at Pamphill.

The victim was walking along Abbott Street at around 1.15am on Monday 3rd July when the incident happened.

He was knocked into undergrowth by a vehicle, suffering a cut to his head and a possible dislocated shoulder.

The driver did initially stop, but drove away with giving any details.

A 26 year old man from Stuminster Marshall, who later came forward after a police appeal, has also been charged with driving with due care and attention.

He was due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 8th August).
