Man charged in connection with reported Weymouth assault

It follows an incident last September

A man has been charged in connection with a report of an assault in Weymouth.

Dorset Police say the incident was reported at around 12.50am on Sunday 29 September 2024.

Back then, an altercation happened near to the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road.

A man in his 30s suffered serious facial injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

A 27-year-old man from Weymouth has now been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4 June 2025.

A 22-year-old Weymouth man who was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place remains released under investigation as enquiries continue.
