Man charged with GBH following Sherborne rugby incident

A player suffered a fractured eye socket and cheek bone during a game

A man's been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm after a rugby player was attacked at a match in Dorset.

The incident happened on March 4th 2023, during the first half of a game between Sherborne and Wellington at the Terrace Playing Fields.

A man needed hospital treatment for a fractured eye socket and cheek bone.

A 26-year-old man from Devon attended a voluntary police interview.

He's been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court on February 21st.
