A man has been charged following a collision in Bournemouth which left two people with serious injuries.
Dorset Police received a report just after 9pm on Thursday evening (21 September) of a collision in Poole Road, near to the St Michael’s Roundabout, involving a grey Audi A4 estate and two pedestrians.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrians, a man aged in his 40s and a woman aged in her 30s, were taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Following enquiries by the Roads Policing Team, a 34-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested and subsequently charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report a road accident and driving without valid insurance.
He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday (25 September) and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 26 October.
