Man brought to safety after incident on roof in Weymouth

A major emergency response was sent to Abbotsbury Road yesterday afternoon

A man's been brought to safety after a major emergency service response in Weymouth following concerns for a man on a roof.

Police were called to Abbotsbury Road at around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"Officers attended, along with the fire service. Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and made efforts to engage with the man.

"He was brought to safety and the road closures were lifted at around 8.30pm."
