Man blinded in one eye in Weymouth assault

A man's been left blinded in one eye, following an assault on Weymouth's Rodwell Trail.

The victim, in his 40s, was walking alone, close to the Parr Way basketball courts, on Saturday 6th January.

He was struck in the face with a glass bottle, and needed hospital treatment for serious facial injuries, including the loss of sight on one side.

PC Harry Chaplin, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are conducting enquiries into this assault, and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area in of the Rodwell Trail or Parr Way and witnessed any suspicious activity around the time of the incident to please contact us.”
