Man assaulted in Weymouth underpass

The victim was grabbed around the neck and suffered facial injuries

A man's suffered facial injuries that needed hospital treatment, after being assaulted in an underpass in Weymouth.

It happened at 10.10am on Monday last week (17th July), as the victim was walking through the pedestrian underpass between Corscombe Close and Westham Bridge.

The man in his 20s was grabbed around the neck assaulted by another man.

The offender is described as:

  • Black
  • Aged in his 20s
  • Around six feet three inches tall
  • Afro-style hair
  • Wearing a black Nike tracksuit

PC Mark Edgar, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are conducting a number of enquiries into this assault, and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant timeframe.”
