Man arrested following assault in Wareham

A woman in her 40s was found after a 'concern for welfare' call

A woman's been assaulted in Wareham, with police finding her after a call raising concerns for her welfare.

Officers got a call at around 11.40pm on Thursday (20th April) about an incident in the Sandford Road area.

The victim, in her 40s had been assaulted, but didn't suffer serious injuries.

A 47 year old man from Wareham has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He is known to the victim.

PC Karam Mander, of Dorset Police, said:

“I am carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident to establish the full circumstances.

“I would ask any witnesses who saw what happened and have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.”
