Man arrested after teenage girl hit by bus

A man has been arrested by officers investigating an incident where a teenager was hit by a bus in Lytchett Matravers.
Dorset Police received a report at 4.08pm on Monday (21 March) of a collision in Wareham Road involving a bus and a pedestrian.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian – a 15-year-old local girl – was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. Her condition is described as serious and her family is being kept updated.
A 59-year-old man from the Dorchester area was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“I would also encourage any motorists who have relevant dashcam footage that may assist our enquiries to please come forward.”
