Man arrested in Dorset over Birmingham murder

A 24 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another male was found with serious injuries in Birmingham on Friday.

He was arrested in Dorset on Sunday morning and will questioned on suspicion of murder by detectives later today.

Hazratgul Ahmadzai was found with serious injuries at an address in Alum Rock Road, on Friday.

The family of Mr Ahmadzai paid tribute saying: “He was a very kind man, everyone loved him and will miss him.

“He was well respected and well thought of. He did not deserve this terrible thing to happen to him. We will miss him every-day.”

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from our Homicide Team, said: "I want to say thank you to the public for sharing our appeal over the last couple of days.

“Information from the public has helped us locate this individual who will now be questioned on suspicion of murder.

“Our thoughts remain with Mr Ahmadzai’s family and we will continue to support them at this difficult time.”
