Man arrested following assault in Bridport

The incident happened in Church Close on Friday evening

Dorset Police are looking for any witnesses to what happened to come forward to help with enquiries.

We're told a man assaulted another male outside an address in Church Close at around 6.35pm on Friday (21st January).

The men involved are known to each other.

A local man in his 40s suffered a cut to his forehead, along with other cuts and bruises around his face and eye, which needed hospital treatment.

A 63 year old local man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

He's released on police bail while investigations are ongoing.

There's now an appeal for anyone who can help with information to get in touch with police.

PC Dan White, of Bridport police, said:

“We have carried out a number of enquiries into this incident, including house-to-house visits. I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Church Close at the relevant time, either walking or driving, and may have witnessed what happened to please get in touch with Dorset Police.”
