Man arrested following Weymouth assault

It happened as the victim was leaving the William Henry pub

A woman in her 20s has been assaulted at a Weymouth pub - with one man arrested.

The victim was at the William Henry pub in Frederick Place at around 2.00pm on Monday (14th March) with a man.

When they left, the man allegedly took a pushchair from her, which caused her to be pushed into a wall.

A 20 year old man from Blandford has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He's since been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing.

PC Sam Welch, of Dorset Police, said:

“I understand there were a number of people in and around the pub at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.”
