A town centre route in Lyme Regis will be closed from this morning (Thursday 25th August), while some emergency works are carried out.

It'll affect the A3052 Bridge Street, between the two sets of traffic lights, outside the Town Council offices.

Work will begin at 9.00am today and is expected to last through until Saturday evening (27th August).

The closure's needed so that Western Power Distribution can fix a severe fault on the mains electricity network.

Due to the narrow nature of the road, the only safe way to carry out the work is to have a full closure put in place.

There will be a signposted diversion route in effect, using the A3052, A358, A35, A3052 and vice versa, but local knowledge might mean there are quicker routes available.

The official diversion route is shown in blue on this map
