New 30mph speed limits come into effect on sections of main roads in East Dorset this Friday (16th August).

It will affect parts of the A35, A350, B3067 and Longmeadow Lane at Upton.

All of the roads run off the Upton Gateway Roundabout and slip roads from the Upton bypass between Lytchett Minster and Poole.

The new traffic order come from a partnership between the Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole councils.

It follows an internal audit of accident statistics by Dorset Council which identified the A35/B3067 Poole Road junction as an accident cluster point.
