PICTURES: Major repairs to A35 needed after lorry destroyed in fire
An HGV carrying hay and a car were destroyed in a blaze near Dorchester

Extensive repairs are being made to the A35 near Dorchester after a serious fire involving a lorry and car.
The fire broke out yesterday afternoon between Winterbourne Abbas and Monkey's Jump Roundabout.
The car and the lorry , which was carrying hay, were both destroyed in the blaze.
No one was injured.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:
"Bridport Dorchester Fire Station, Weymouth Fire Station, Beaminster Fire Station, Maiden Newton Fire Station, Bere Regis Fire Station and water carriers from Poole Fire Station and Yeovil Fire Station were all mobilised to a large vehicle on fire carrying hay on the A35 between Winterbourne Abbas and Monkey's Jump roundabout Dorchester.
"On arrival crews found the lorry fully involved in fire, one small passenger vehicle fully involved in fire, multiple vehicles damaged by fire and surrounding vegetation and fencing on fire. All spread across approximately 400 metres.
"Crews used multiple hose reel jets and main lines to extinguish the fire."
The road has now been reopened by there are temporary traffic lights in place while repairs are carried out.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
"Crews from Dorchester , Bere Regis, Portland, Bridport, Beaminster and Weymouth, together with a small 4x4 appliance from Maiden Newton and a water carrier from Yeovil attended, working hard to prevent the fire spreading into the adjacent woodland.
"One lorry, one car and just under 100 metres of verge was completely destroyed by fire. A local farmer assisted us with removing the hay from the road with a telehandler. The stop message came through at 6:12pm and the incident was handed over to Police."
