The Nest, Weymouth, opened up on Abbotsbury Road in November 2020 to help struggling families. Now it's opening up at a new location in Littlemoor from tomorrow.

It offers people a cheaper weekly shop if they're already struggling to make ends meet, offering them 10 items and as much bread as they need for a set price.

James Knox is the manager at the new store. He told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"We have a diverse population on Littlemoor.

"There is a great need on Littlemoor and it's just in the nick of time. House prices are going up, food prices are going up, and utility bills are going up, all across the board.

"I know one lady whose electricity bill jumped by £700. Who can afford that?"

The new location will help people who previously had to travel to Abbotsbury Road in Westham who can't afford the bus fare.

James said:

"We're a step up from a food bank, we provide people with free, as much as they need, fruit, veg and bread.

"You sign up for free and once a week you can come in and shop and if it's up to two people in the household it's £3.50 for 10 items, if you've got 3 or more people it's £5 for 15 items.

"Bills are just going up, food prices are going up and people are starting to struggle and it's starting to bite already."
