Could the new KFC in Weymouth be open by Christmas?
It's finger licking good news for the Dorset town
Fast food giant, KFC, has revealed to Greatest Hits Radio Dorset when they will be opening a new restaurant in Weymouth.
The chain is due to open in the former Warren James jewellers on St Mary's Street later this year, just in time for Christmas.
An exact date hasn't been confirmed but works are due to start this month.
Up to 20 new jobs will be created.
A KFC Spokesperson told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to open a flapping new restaurant in Weymouth – we’re hoping to be serving our buckets full of delicious fried chicken just in time to bring a little festive spirit – Colonel style.”
The other KFC found in Jubilee Close is a restaurant and drive-through which the company will be maintaining.
The fast food chain are using a local company for the installation of the new restaurant on St Mary Street.
Express Refrigeration will begin works on the new restaurant in October.
They have been carrying out works for KFC in Dorset for about 15 to 20 years and are helping with two other new restaurants due to open in New Milton and Castle Point.
