A male kayaker's been rescued from the sea off Ringstead Beach.

He'd capsized but had managed to hold on to his kayak which was being swept along the coast.

Weymouth Inshore Lifeboat which was already out on an exercise yesterday morning (Sunday 26 September) was sent to help.

A spokesman for Weymouth Lifeboat Station said:

"On scene at 10.47am the volunteer lifeboat crew recovered the man and Kayak to Ringstead Beach, where with no medical treatment required the Inshore lifeboat left the casualty."
