Investigation launched after man dies in Weymouth
Police were called out to an incident in Brunswick Terrace
Detectives investigating the death of a man in Weymouth say they're not currently treating it as suspicious.
Police were called to reports of a man needing medical attention in Brunswick Terrace just before 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 25th March).
He died at the scene.
A 50-year-old man's been arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs.
Detective Inspector George Graham, of Weymouth CID, said:
“Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries as we look to establish the full circumstances of this death.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in or around the area of the Pier Bandstand on Weymouth Esplanade, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.
“We are aware that a member of the public assisted by administering CPR to the man at the scene prior to the arrival of the emergency services and we would very much like to speak them in relation to the incident.
“The investigation remains ongoing and there will be an increased policing presence in the vicinity as further enquiries are conducted. Officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.”
