'Human error' to blame for Custom House Quay paint job

Dorset Council has now apologised for the colour there

There's been an admission from Dorset Council that 'human error' played a part in Weymouth's Custom House Quay having its footpaths painted the wrong colour.

The pavement there has been described as 'snotty green' but will end up more of a sandy colour.

The green shade had been described as 'migraine inducing' and was even mentioned on TV show 'Have I Got News For You?'.

Now workers are back on site sorting out the issue.

In a statement, Dorset Council has said:

“We're aware that the appearance of the footway along Custom House Quay has generated lots of interest, following a social media post that suggested our contractor had finished work on the path.

"The paint on the harbour side of Custom House Quay is not the intended finished colour. We will be painting over this with the same as has been applied at the Pavilion end of the Quay. It has come to light that human error played a part in a mix up with the intended colour, which we apologise for and are putting right.”
