Homes flooded in Bridport after heavy rain

Heavy rain caused flooding in Bridport last night.

Firefighters were called to Diments Square where a number of properties had been affected by the down pour which overloaded drains.

South Street was also affected by flooding.

Firefighters helped remove floodwater a silt from properties.

'Weather Warning'

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for rain and wind tomorrow (Friday 2 October) from 3am until 8pm.

That means:

Flooding of a few homes and businesses in urbanised areas is likely.

Spray and flooding on roads will make for dangerous driving conditions resulting in longer journey times.

It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.

Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
