A plane has crashed in Yeovil.

North Weald Heritage Association have posted on Facebook about the crash.

They've said: "We can confirm that the aircraft had to make a forced landing following an engine issue just outside the boundaries of the base at roughly 14:15pm, and that both crew members on board are safe and have been taken to hospital as a precaution to ensure they have no serious injuries".

South Western Ambulance Service has confirmed that news. Telling us they received a call at 2.18pm about the crash in Limington, Yeovil. Paramedics and two land ambulance crews were sent to the scene, where they treated two male patients and transported them to hospital via ambulance.

Their injuries are not believed to be too serious.

A twitter user identified the crashed aircraft as a Sea Fury, a heritage fighter plane.

The plane was one of two Sea Fury’s operated by the Navy Wings Charity at Yeovilton. You can see an image of the other plane above.

Avon and Somerset Police have told us The Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) have been notified.
