A change in the weather led to flash flooding in the Bridport area yesterday.

Fire crews were called in by Wessex Water to help reduce water levels at Meadowsland.

They also helped deal with flooding at Parkdean's West Bay Holiday Park.

A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:

"What a change from just a few days ago fighting fires on heaths and fields of crop.

"Bridport were mobilised to multiple incidents in the local area to prevent flood water entering properties.

"We also assisted Wessex Water in Meadowlands to reduce water levels and help deal with an open pit in the road. We also had to deal with wide area flooding at Parkdean and along with our colleagues from Charmouth Fire Station dealt with a gas leak on West Road."
