Funding worth £1,000 is available to encourage local groups in Weymouth to take part in the Big Help Out volunteering event to mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation.

Charitable organisations, voluntary and community groups can apply for up to £100 towards the cost of putting on an activity on Monday 8th May in Weymouth.

The money could go towards a volunteering activity that requires some materials, paint, or equipment for clean-up projects to be purchased.

The activity must take place over the bank holiday weekend either on Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th or Monday 8th May.

Chair of Services Committee, Cllr Ryan Hope, said: “Weymouth Town Council will be lending its support to the Big Help Out initiative by offering grants that will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and support their local community. If you’d like to lend a hand, then we would love to hear from you!”

Please visit the website for an application form. The deadline to apply is Friday 28th April.

If you require any advice or guidance, please contact Weymouth Town Council on 01305 239839 or email office@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk

Grants will not be available for commercial events.
