GCSE results day for Dorset students

This year's results for GCSE students in Dorset have been based on teacher's assessments

Students in Dorset are receiving their GCSE results today - but there are concerns there will be a surge in top grades which could cause issues for admissions teams.

It's the second year running that teachers have assessed their pupils instead of exams.

The department for education say this year's system gives students a chance to do their best despite varying impacts of the pandemic across the country

Last years saw an 8% rise in the number of pupils scoring a grade 5 or above. The average score in Dorset also increased.
