Four people seriously injured after crash near Sherborne

A driver in his 20's was airlifted to hospital

Four people have been seriously injured after an accident involving two cars near Sherborne.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.19pm on Thursday 7 April 2022 of a collision involving a white Suzuki Splash and a green BMW at the junction of the A352 and Tiley Knap at Middlemarsh.

All four occupants of the Suzuki were treated for serious injuries. The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital and the three passengers were taken to Dorset County Hospital.

Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and an examination of the scene was carried out.

Police Constable Duncan Roberts, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
