A van driver's suffered life-changing injuries and three other people have been seriously injured in a crash near Blandford.

Dorset Police received a report at around 4.35pm yesterday afternoon (19 April) of a collision involving a silver Ford S-Max and a white Ford Transit van on Fair Mile Road in Bryanston.

The driver of the van – a man aged in his 30s – was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment to life-changing injuries.

The three occupants of the Ford car were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Road closures were in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident and they were lifted at around 8.30pm.

Police Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or manner of driving of either vehicle in the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch.

“Also, I would ask motorists who were travelling in the area with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check for any footage to help my enquiries.”
