Heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of Dorset yesterday.

Several vehicles had to be abandoned after getting stranded in deep flood water in Bournemouth.

Braidley Road was closed between St Stephens Road and Bourne Avenue while vehicles were recovered.

Parts of Dorset saw up to 40mm of rain fall in a few hours - with some train services suspended.

There were very heavy delays on the A35.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service issued a warning to drivers not to attempt to drive through flood water.
