The first of three free fireworks displays will be held on Weymouth Seafront for the summer season tonight (Monday 1st August).

It's all put on by Weymouth Town Council, with further events on Monday 15th and Monday 29th August.

Each of the displays will start at 9.30pm.

The first two of the events will also feature lower noise fireworks, following feedback from last year's activities.

Cllr Ann Weaving, Mayor of Weymouth Town Council, said:

“The fireworks on Weymouth seafront always create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the town for residents and visitors. I would encourage people to make an evening of it and support our local hospitality venues prior to the displays.

“I’m also glad that we’re able to hold two lower noise displays after the successful trial of these displays last summer – this will mean that more people are able to enjoy our firework displays.”

Plea to use public transport

Weymouth Town Council is asking anyone who can, to use public transport or walk down to the seafront for the displays.

The car parks are expected to be very busy with tourists, with hopes local can help prevent congestion and reduce carbon emissions.
