If you've ever wondered if firefighters do ever rescue cats stuck up a tree, well in Dorset they do!

Firefighters in Bridport were called by the RSPCA to rescue a cat who'd been up a tree for 2 days.

But the rescue didn't quite go to plan.

The cat, which had been there for 2 days

A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:

"Crews used one 9 metre ladder and safe working at height gear to get access to the cat.

"Of course when we reached the cat it had other ideas and made its way down safely before running off.

"Contrary to belief firefighters don't get called to this very often. We've had cats stuck in places but this to our knowledge is a first for Bridport, certainly for one crew member with over 20 years experience."
