Fire started in ghost tunnels on Portland
Dorset Police have launched an investigation
A police investigation has been launched after a fire in the ghost tunnels on Portland.
Police were called out to the area near Fancy's Farm on Saturday afternoon. (6 March)
Fire crews put out a small fire, which is now thought to have been started deliberately.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said:
"Just after 4pm Fire Control received a call from the Police to reports of a fire in a tunnel at Ghost Tunnels, Portland, believed to be started by teenagers.
"Crew extinguished the fire using an aquapac, and investigated the other tunnels to ensure they were safe."
A police investigation's been launched.
We're told no arrests have been made so far.
