Female cyclist with life-threatening injuries after collision near Beaminster

The accident involving an electric bike and a car happened on Thursday morning

A woman in her 60's has suffered life-threatening injuries after an accident near Beaminster.

Dorset Police say at around 11.30am on Thursday (10 February) a collision happened on Tower Hill at Netherbury involving a white Vauxhall Grandland X Sport and an electric bicycle.

The cyclist, a local woman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she is believed to be in a life-threatening condition. Her family has been informed.

Road closures were put in place as emergency services dealt with the incident and an examination of the scene was carried out.

Dorset Police Appeal

Police Constable Chris Brolan, of the traffic unit, said:

“We are continuing to conduct enquiries in order to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please contact us.”
