There's an appeal to trace a driver involved in a fail-to-stop collision in Weymouth.

A two vehicle crash happened on the A354 Rodwell Road, at the junction with St Leonard's Road, at around 7.00am on Sunday 10th September.

The driver of a Citroen C4 asked the other motorist to park further up the road, in a safe location, to exchange details.

But the other vehicle didn't turn up and didn't pass on details.

That car's described as dark blue and possibly a Mazda or a Vauxhall Astra.

PC Reuben Wilkinson, of Weymouth police, said:

“Thankfully, nobody was injured. However, the Citroen was significantly damaged and I am keen to speak to the driver of the other vehicle.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“Also, I would urge the driver to please do the right thing and contact Dorset Police so we can take your account of the circumstances.”

If you can help with information, you're asked to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55230143546.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
