A Bournemouth man's been arrested following a fail-to-stop crash in Wimborne.

It happened just after 7.00am on Monday morning (9th September) - when the car collided with a bollard in Smugglers Lane in Colehill and didn't stop at the scene.

Police later seized a vehicle near Canford Bottom roundabout.

A 34-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of driving and drug offences - he's been released under investigation.

There's no an appeal for witnesses to contact officers.

PC Steve Hall, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are investigating this incident and from our enquiries I understand there were two key witnesses in the area around the time of the collision who we are keen to speak to and take their account of what happened.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Furthermore, I would ask any residents of the area to please check their home doorbell or CCTV cameras to see if they have captured anything of relevance to our investigation.”
