Two men have forced their way into the home of an elderly woman in Bournemouth.

Police believe they stole a safe containing documents, keys and money.

At around midday on Tuesday 11 July two men attended a property in Malvern Road and tried to convince the occupant that the house needed work done.

When the occupant – an elderly woman – refused to engage with them and tried to shut the door, one of the men forced his way in.

Once inside, the men claimed that they needed to find for a lost leaflet in the garden and during their apparent search also wanted to go upstairs for a look outside.

At some point during the time the men were in the property, it is believed that they stole a safe.

Police Constable Andrew Kelly, of Bournemouth police, said: “As part of my investigation, I am now in a position to issue images of one of the suspects.

“I am hoping that somebody may recognise this man and can assist with my enquiries.”
