A large quantity of drugs and cash has been seized in Weymouth.

Officers were involved in a joint operation with British Transport Police.

A car of interest to the police was spotted at Bowleaze Coveway and made off at speed.

It was later found abandoned in Littlemoor.

Police then searched the area.

Two men were located at an address nearby and arrested.

A spokesperson for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

" These two males, who are not local, were found to be in possession of a large amount of drugs and cash so have both been arrested for several traffic and drug offences and are now in custody.

"One of the males also had several matters outstanding against him and will be dealt with these as well."
